Common questions from students
Is it really free for students?
Yes. A recognized school email or approved enrollment document gives your personal vault Plus for 12 months, followed by a 14-day grace period. You can renew while you remain enrolled. No credit card is required.
How do I verify that I am a student?
Create an account and open Settings, Billing, then Student eligibility. With a recognized school email, enter the six-digit code we send and attest that you are enrolled. If the domain is not recognized, upload exactly one PDF, JPEG or PNG, up to 10 MB. It must show your full legal name, institution and current enrollment as an enrollment letter or certificate, a current-term schedule, a current-term tuition statement or receipt, or a student ID with the current academic year or a future expiration date.
What happens when I graduate?
Your vault and every document in it stay yours. We send renewal reminders before the benefit ends. If you do not renew, the effective plan returns to Free after the 14-day grace period, and normal Free storage and feature limits apply. Your documents are not deleted as part of benefit expiry.
Can I redact my enrollment proof?
Yes. You may redact financial amounts, addresses, student numbers and unrelated information. Your full legal name, institution and the qualifying date, expiration date or current term must remain visible. Evidence is kept outside your vault and removed 30 days after a decision.
What should I keep in it?
Transcripts, financial aid and FAFSA forms, scholarship letters, housing and lease applications, your passport and, for international students, your I-20 and visa documents, plus internship and job offers. Anything school, work or a landlord might ask for.
Who can see my documents?
Only you, unless you choose to share. Files are encrypted in transit, stored in private buckets behind your login, and never used for ads or to train AI. Share a secure link when you need to, and revoke it whenever you like.
